India-Bhutan new ties

After Foreign Secretary Vijay Gokhale’s official trip to Bhutan. Lotay Tshering, Prime Minister of Bhutan arrived in India on Thursday for three-day visit during which he will be in conversation with Prime Minister Narendra Modi on various issues, including five-year development plan of Himalayan nations. After taking charge as the Prime Minister of Bhutan last month, this is his first visit to India and he was received by Minister of state for finance Shiv Pratap Shukla.
According to sources, various issues including Bhutan’s Five Year development plan can be discussed. All aspects of Bilateral relations, including high-level exchanges, people-to-people ties, and economic development and hydro power cooperation are likely to be discussed. Said The Ministry of External Affairs. The MEA said that upcoming visit of Lotay Tshering will create an opportunity for both the sides.

Dr Lotay Tshering @PMBhutan received warmly by MoS Finance @BJPShivPShukla on arrival in Delhi for a 3-day State Visit at the invitation of PM @narendramodi. #IndiaBhutan celebrate 50th anniversary of establishment of diplomatic relations this year,” MEA Spokesperson Raveesh Kumar tweeted after Bhutanese premier’s arrival.
